I have been using Living Libations Skincare and beauty products for years now. I first discovered their range on a little island called Kauai, one of the Hawaiian Islands, in a beautiful juice bar. At the time I suffered from terrible acne, and was learning about the benefits of seabuckthorn berry for skin health & inflammation. I then came across their 'Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever' cleansing & moisturising oil. I was so drawn to it, purchased it, and immediately started seeing amazing results with the healing of my acne.
At the time, I was unknowingly still eating foods that were making me more sick & aggravating my skin, and had no idea how to eat to be healthy or how to assist my body through detoxification. BUT- although I was going through all of this internally, I STILL experienced incredible results using their skincare. I'll never forget the complements I would get when I used the Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever & the Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming Fluid. For someone who had bad acne for well over 5 years, getting complements on my skin was a big deal.

Here are some of my thoughts & reviews on a few of their products I've currently been using on the daily.
Best Skin Ever - Seabuckthorn
This is definitely my favourite product from the Living Libations range... I have used it for YEARS and have taken the beautiful frosted glass bottles with me all over the world!
Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever is a multi-purpose oil blend that can be used for oil cleansing the face, and as a moisturiser for face and body. It is both hydrating and clarifying, suited to all skin types. It thoroughly cleanses the skin of makeup, dirt, debris, sunscreen, and any build up of dead skin cells and sebum. With this type of oil cleanser, you need to use a washcloth to remove it, which will ever so gently exfoliate the skin. I use their Organic Hemp Face Cloths.
Seabuckthorn sends its lipids deep into the skin, diminishing imbalances from the inside out. This supercritical extract is packed with omega fatty acids 3, 6, 7, and 9, antioxidants, vitamins, palmitoleic acids, carotenoids, and phytosterols. A single drop of Seabuckthorn oil contains 190 different bioactive compounds. This bright orange essence is incredibly regenerative and complexion clearing - relaxing redness and paring puffiness. Seabuckthorn is an excellent addition to cleansers for acne, and it helps to harmonise skin with sun!
I use it as my cleanser, exfoliator & moisturiser! I washed my face with it every night. As a cleanser, wet a small portion of a face cloth with water and squeeze it out. Then apply one to two squirts of Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn to the dampened portion of the face cloth and gently massage the face & neck with the moistened cloth. Wash gently or vigorously, depending on if you would like an exfoliating effect. Then rinse your cloth & your face. As a moisturiser, apply a squirt or two of Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn to your fingertips and massage into the face to moisturise after cleaning. Sometimes I don't moisturise with it after because my skin is hydrated already from the cleansing.
As a body oil, apply a few squirts onto a damp washcloth. Massage the entire body - head to toe - with the cloth. Use a more vigorous approach for more exfoliation or for problem areas. I mostly just use on my legs as they can get a bit dry this time of year.
Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever is gentle, lightweight, and easy to apply. It cleanses your skin thoroughly without drying or stripping it. I found this oil blend to be calming and clarifying, keeping my skin clear of breakouts and clogged pores.
My biggest benefit was using this product with Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming Fluid (the Living Libations serum/moisturiser I use after cleansing). Together they completely evened out my skin tone, and faded my stubborn scarring. Together they also prevent future breakouts from forming.
I'd recommend this product to anyone who likes oil cleansing. It’s quite lightweight which would make it well suited for all skin types, especially normal, oily, and acne prone skin.
I also find the array of ingredients in this oil cleanser to be very good at preventing breakouts. (Ingredients Super-Critical Sea Buckthorn Oil, Golden Jojoba Oil, Virgin Coconut Oil, Tamanu Oil, Lavender, Vetiver, Grapefruit, and Palmarosa Essential Oils).
It’s calming and clarifying, so if you have acne prone skin and oil cleansing works well for you, I would strongly recommend trying this product. It would be soothing and clarifying while you have active breakouts and can help prevent future pimples and breakouts from forming.
If you have melasma, pigmentation, sun spots, age spots, acne scars and marks that you want to fade – I strongly recommend using the Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever with the Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming Fluid.
I am so grateful to have this perfume as part of my beauty collection now. Regular synthetic (and even 'natural') perfumes give me a horrible headache and make me feel instantly lethargic.

There are several Petal Perfumes in the Living Libations range- but I personally cannot get enough of the Lei Lady Lei Perfume. This one is inspired by a love of Hawaii. It’s such a happy and sparkly scent, like a colourful harmony of tropical flowers dancing about me every time I spray it. The smell makes me giddy and excited for life. It smells sweet, yet not vanilla-sweet. It’s delightful, really!

In 2010 the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics made known that generally synthetic fragrance contains up to 14 potentially harmful chemicals which the brand owners are not needing by law to reveal. Those synthetic chemicals, that are not derived from flowers and seeds, are created in a test tube. These synthetics are capable of causing hay fever, headaches, mood swings and skin irritations.
As with all Living Libations products, this item is effective, nourishing and a small bottle lasts a long time.
One of the main key ingredients is Rose Hip oil, which is an ancient skin remedy most recently made famous by the people of Chile who use the oil to improve the appearance of scars, reduce wrinkles, and prevent signs of ageing. The hips of the rose rejuvenate skin from your head to your toes! Rose hips contain high levels of nutrients, vitamins, and essential fatty acids, plus vitamin C and lycopene. This ingredient has an affinity for skin and supports elasticity and improves its texture and firmness.
Another essential ingredient is the CoQ10. CoQ10 is a naturally occurring enzyme found in the body. It is used to produce the energy needed for daily rejuvenation. During childhood and adolescence, our bodies make plenty of CoQ10 so we flourish at optimal levels. With age or stress, our CoQ10 levels diminish and the skin can loose firmness and suppleness.
I especially like this product to use during the night. My skin is visibly healthier and more supple looking the next morning. It is SO rejuvenating on the skin because it stimulates collagen and tones the skin with the organic rose ingredients. I especially love this Royal Rose CoQ10 serum because of the light gentle texture. I also ADORE the gorgeous scent.
This is probably the most luxurious and expensive product out of my favourites that I'm reviewing in this blog post. I would definitely recommend this product to someone with more mature skin, wanting to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, or to someone who is wanting to increase their skin elasticity and replenish skin tone & texture. I probably wouldn't recommend this oil to someone with active breakouts, however it is an excellent serum blend to help restore & replenish skin of redness, marks and scarring post acne.
The Living Libations DewDab, leaves me speechless every. single. time. This soothing spot treatment blend is the most effective product I've ever used at literally making pimples disappear overnight, whilst also fading away some mild acne scaring/texture on my cheeks.
Simply tilt the bottle to release one drop onto your fingertip and apply directly to the spot. This serum is designed to diminish the appearance of fine lines, scars, bumps, couperose and melasma on your skin. A little dab will do! Dab directly, undiluted or as beautiful additive to the Seakbuckthorn Best Skin Ever, Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming fluid or Eye Crème.
Overall, I feel like this is an essential & beautiful item that everyone should have in their skin care kit. I use it on my skin last, after cleansing & moisturising. I apply it to any red areas or any bumps. I.And I kid you not, whatever situation was on my skin the night I apply it, is either flattened out or completely gone the next morning! I've never experienced such speedy healing with any other skin care product. Dew Dab is a must-have game changer, and like all the other LL products, smells delightful.
Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming Fluid is a light weight moisturiser good for oily skin, summer months, and humid weather.
What stands out about this product is how hydrating it is. Personally I believe all skin types would benefit from this product because most people have dehydrated skin due to climate, pollution, air conditioning, or indoor heating.
This product is aloe-based, so it has a fluid-like consistency, not an oily consistency (it’s not oily at all). I would say it’s a little lighter than a lotion, but heavier than a toner or essence. It’s kind of like a hydrating essence X 1000.
Depending on your skin type, you can use this as a light weight moisturiser, or as a hydration booster under your regular moisturiser or facial oil. It also claims to have anti-aging properties (it contains CoQ10 which can help with firming the skin). Because it’s so hydrating, it will plump the skin, smooth the appearance of fine lines and keep your skin balanced.
I am amazed at how hydrating it is, while at the same time it absorbs beautifully, making your skin velvety soft. Unlike a lot of moisturisers, it doesn’t sit on your skin or feel heavy. In fact, once you apply it, you don’t feel it at all. It feels cooling, calming, and balancing. And unlike many hydrating serums and toners, it doesn’t make your skin sticky or tight.
In all, I feel like this product can bring life back into dull skin, sooth irritated and dehydrated skin, plump up your skin, and give you a youthful glow. If you get breakouts from most creams and moisturisers, I recommend trying this. It’s aloe-based, and doesn’t contain heavy oils or waxes that can sometimes clog pores.
I used to avoid moisturising because I hated that thick & dense oily 'shine' I'd have sitting on top of my skin from apply creams, serums etc. With the Rose Renewal + Frankincense Firming Fluid, I don't experience that at all!

The importance of NOT using synthetic skincare
Your skin is your largest organ and absorbs whatever you put on it. A lot of beauty products will say 'natural' or 'vegan' or market themselves as 'clean' when in reality, if you flip over to the ingredients list on the label, its full of additives, agents, long words you cannot pronounce, numbers etc... you get the point.
A major feature of Living Libations that I love is that every single ingredient is a KEY COMPONENT of the product and is featured on the front for everyone to admire... not hidden in fine print in a difficult-to-read corner like other skincare brands with 1000 chemicals.
