My All-time Favourite Green Juice
Since we have been in isolation recently, I have found that I am getting more creative in the kitchen and more in-tune with my body's nutritional and spiritual needs. With more time on our hands, I have been able to change up my routine, try new things, experiment, and have fun with new juice and food combinations that I probably would never of tried out before!
Sooo, recently I have also started gardening daily and now have an abundance of herbs, fruits and veggies that are incredible when picked fresh and ran through the juicer. A thriving mint plant of ours, a rapidly growing aloe vera plant, and a parsley and baby cucumber plant in our garden inspired me to put together this delicious green juice that I have found is super energising, soothing on my digestion and provides me with mental clarity and anti-viral benefits.
The selection of ingredients in this juice all have their own unique, super powerful healing qualities that I will now dive into so you know what you're in for when you drink this beautiful elixir packed with life-force energy.

Celery's subgroups of sodium called 'cluster salts' protect cell membranes and inhibit the growth of viruses, bacteria and fungus. Celery restores the liver's bile production capability as well as the potency and complicated structure of the bile, which in most people is unbalanced. Celery's cluster salts bind onto free-floating poisons and toxins and flush them into the bloodstream, remaining bonded so that the troublemakers can leave the kidneys or intestinal tract safely. Without realising it, we get celery from different regions and different farms, this is beneficial because different earth affects the mineral salt composition of celery grown in it, providing a variety of sodium compositions that help our immune systems.

Cucumbers are allies to our body's due to their ability to hydrate us, we are always in need of living water thats filled with minerals and other nutrients. Cucumbers minimise dirty blood syndrome by helping reduce fats and toxins inside of the blood. Phytochemical compounds in cucumbers act as anti-inflammatories to the small intestines and colon. Cucumbers have a gentle blood-thinning ability, too, allowing for detox to occur naturally, without obstruction.

Apples provide living water to support the livers hydration capabilities, so it can store the water and then release it back into the bloodstream when dehydration or dirty blood syndrome occurs. The fruit acids in apple help cleanse the liver by dispersing toxic films that build up inside its storage banks. Apples starve out bacteria, yeast, mold, other funguses, and viruses from the intestinal tract and liver. They are also great for dissolving gallstones.

Refreshing, zingy and delightful, a dash of mint can set almost anything right. Mint is one of the oldest culinary herbs known to mankind. Its remarkable medicinal properties have made it one of the most commonly known and used herbs ever. Mint can work wonders for almost all your digestion. According to the book 'Healing Foods' by DK Publishing, menthol, which is the active oil in the mint, has antiseptic and antibacterial properties that help relieve indigestion and also soothe an upset stomach. Mint is also known to clear congestion of the nose, throat, bronchi, and lungs. In addition to the respiratory channels, mint's anti-inflammatory properties also relieve the irritation caused by chronic coughing.

Parsleys phytochemcials have anti-troublemaker effects that dislodge poisons and catapult them out of your liver. The intense green pigment in parsley contains an alkaloid specifically for liver rejuvenation; tissue in the liver improves when exposed to these alkaloid compounds.

Dandelion has been valued since ancient times for its great healing properties. It is a symbol of the true perseverance of nature. The dandelion botanical name “Taraxacum officinale” speaks for its usefulness and refers to the healing effect. Namely, ‘Taraxacum’ comes from the Greek and means ‘anti-inflammatory’ and ‘officinale’ refers to the common name for herbs. However anti-inflammatory effect is not the only benefit of the dandelion. "Dandelion can help to fight inflammation, boost immune system, act as an anti aging agent in skin care products and even treat type 2 diabetes, cancer, and HIV." "In folk medicine, dandelion is referred to as the elixir of life because it purifies the body of residues and negative energies. Because of its cleansing effect, it is also called blood purifier, laxative agent, liver cleanser and fatigue remover."

Limes improve hydrochloric acid production as well as bile production and potency. They contain micro mineral salts that break down pathogens such as unproductive bacteria, mold, yeast, and funguses to help protect your immune system. The rich calcium levels in limes binds to the vitamin C within them, and both of these enter into the liver, where they waken a stagnant, sluggish, fatty liver, helping loosen and disperse fat cells.

The gel from a fresh aloe leaf binds onto toxic debris in the intestinal tract and carries it out of the colon during elimination. Aloe allows for a cleaner blood flow through the hepatic portal system into the liver, brining with it chemical compounds from aloe that specifically inhibit bacteria and certain viruses. Aloe is also super soothing on the digestive tract and can help eliminate constipation and bloating.
You will need…
○ 4-6 stalks of celery
○ 2 cucumbers or 4-6 baby cucs
○ 4 apples
○ 1 small thumb of ginger
○ Handful of mint
○ Handful of parsley
○ Aloe gel scooped out of an aloe vera leaf
○ 1 lime- peeled
○ Optional - dandelion greens or kale (NOTE- although dandelion greens are incredibly good for you, they are also extremely bitter, be careful with how much you add)
Method
1. Using a cold-pressed masticating juicer, run through the above ingredients. Make sure that the ginger, lime, aloe and herbs are put through first, so that the other fruits and vegetables can push through the entirety of these small volume and nutrient-dense ingredients.
2. OPTIONAL- double strain your juice into your glass. I find that my juicer does a pretty good job at removing 98% of the pulp, but I like to double strain my juice by pouring the liquid through a sifter once it has come out of the machine. I do this because I like super smooth juice and find it more pleasant to drink when theres zero fibre present :)
