The All Natural & Vegan Makeup I’m Loving This Holiday Season - Ere Perez

Hello hello everyone! It’s summer time here in Australia and since it’s also the festive season, I have been enjoying creating bright, glowy makeup looks for events and gatherings, whilst at the same time nourishing my skin with high quality botanical ingredients & superfoods.

Ere Perez is my all time favourite makeup line, I have tried a broad range of natural & ‘artificial’ makeup brands over the years and nothing compares to the finish and feeling of these Ere Perez products. They are chemical-free, vegan & plant-based, non-GMO, carbon natural, cruelty free, and enriched with powerhouse plants & unique Australian native ingredients and enzymes known to promote healing. I have also really struggled with acne and dermatitis in the past and Ere Perez is one of the only makeup brands that does not aggravate or inflame my skin! Which is just so comforting for me knowing I can wear something that is gentle and non-abrasive whilst FEELING hydrating and nourishing on my skin, lips and eyes.

In this blog I will be diving into reviewing my favourite products I’ve been using this summer and how I love to use them together!

First things first — skin prep. Before applying any makeup to my face I’ve been massaging the Quandong Green Booster Serum into my skin. This is technically a skincare product but also doubles up as a soothing, hydrating, oil balancing primer. I find that it diminishes any redness on my skin and allows the Oak Milk Foundation to apply and spread super seamlessly, and increases the wear time too. I also use the Quandong Green Booster Serum after I’ve taken off my makeup for the day and use it as part of my night time skin routine. When I wake up in the morning after applying this to my skin the night before, my face always looks so even-toned, smooth and firm… I can’t go without this serum now!

Some of the hero ingredients in this serum include; quandong, alfalfa, chlorophyll, hyaluronic acid, jojoba, lactic acid, spinach leaf, raspberry, and vitamin E.

Quandong is extracted from the fruit native to the central & southern dessert of Australia, and has the second highest level of antioxidants in all fruit! Some benefits of quandong are anti-ageing properties, fights free radicals, protects skin from the elements, reduces inflammation, excellent source of hydration, and brightens skin tone.

Oat Milk Foundation

Not to be dramatic, but this is hands down the best foundation I’ve ever used and I never reach for anything else. I have this one in the shade ‘Chai’, ‘Maple’, and ‘Caramel’, but have been wearing Maple recently which is a shade inbetween Chai and Caramel, which is the perfect shade for my fluctuating skin colour at the moment (we have had a weird Summer here so far in NSW with many cold, cloudy, rainy days, and some days with scorching heat and full sunshine! So sometimes my face is more tan, sometimes it fades during the rainy weeks).

The Oat Milk Foundation has a beautiful finish. It is a breathable, light weight, semi-dewy, non-greasy, long-lasting foundation that offers medium & buildable coverage. It also gives an airbrushed effect with a slight glow… perfect for summery holiday events in my opinion! I would say that this would suit all skin-types and sensitive skin. It also contains oat milk, peach & vitamin E to help nourish your skin throughout the day or evening, and is free from impurities so your skin is able to breathe.

As I’m writing this, a memory has just come to mind… growing up, if my sister or I ever had any kind of skin rash or itchiness, my Mum would always put us in a warm oat milk infused bath and it would always sooth our skin and take away any irritation. I love how oat milk is the key ingredient in this foundation because it is a skin-conditioning agent, emollient, has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as vitamin C & E which all help to improve the condition of inflamed skin, absorb excess oil, naturally moisturise, and provide a barrier to protect against pollutants.

After washing my face and massaging the Quandong Green Booster Serum into my skin, I put a pea-sized amount of Oat Milk Foundation onto my hand, and dot the foundation onto my face with a multipurpose brush on my cheeks, forehead, chin and along my nose. I then blend the foundation in with circular movements for an even coverage over my whole face to create a natural base. It melts into skin beautifully and evens out my skin tone in a flattering way :)

This is a stunning ‘champagne-golden’ toned highlighter which is perfect to add to the inner corners of your eyes, eyelids, tops of your cheek bones, cupids bow, and brow bones. I love how it is not super ‘glittery’ but adds the right amount of radiance to lift the high points of your face and provides a healthy glow. I find that this works very well in combination with the Ere Perez Arnica Concealer in the shade ‘Brew’ for contouring and bronzing.

My absolute favourite part about this highlighter is the SCENT!!! Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious. Me. Natural vanilla is formulated into this highlighter and it smells unreal, it’s so delicious I want to eat it!

The Vanilla Highlighter In Sun Halo is probably one of my most loved products from Ere Perez as it’s buttery, easy to blend, creamy, and is in a new eco-friendly case that is 100% plastic-free.

For extra highlighting, you can also apply long lines along the collarbones and décolletage for more luminance, which is a pretty touch that I personally love to add around this time of year!

Some of the superfood ingredients in this highlighter include; vanilla, grapeseed, cacao seed butter, and vitamin E, which all have very distinct beneficial properties to help maintain nourished skin.😊💛

Avocado Waterproof Mascara

A lot of waterproof mascaras I’ve tried in the past have damaged my lashes, but the Ere Perez Avocado Waterproof Mascara is different to anything I’ve previously tried. This mascara has a dry-style formula, is long-lasting and waterproof, supports the growth and strength of lashes, is non-irritating for sensitive eyes, alcohol free, and is vegan and cruelty free with superfoods blended in!

I love how this mascara applies, it is non-clumpy, voluminous, separates & lengthens my lashes, and doesn’t smudge. I tested the ‘waterproof factor’ of this mascara out, by swimming in the sea and going for a surf… it certainly doesn’t run or leave black stains around my eyes which I’m so stoked about.

The Avocado Waterproof Mascara has a special formulation with botanicals of avocado oil, almond, and camellia.

Avocado oil is extracted from the dehydrates avocado fruit, native to Mexico. It contains vitamins B & E, antioxidants, fatty acids, moisturising properties to add shine, and to promote length & conditioning to dry hair or lashes. How good!

This lipbar is a sweet sheer tint that adds a low-key pop of colour to your lips. I’ve been wearing this every day and it’s perfect for beach days, picnics, and festive gatherings for a light & fresh makeup look. I have the Wild Pansy Tinted Lipbar in the shade ‘Wish’, which is a super pretty & flattering orange coral shade! Alongside the subtle yet pigmented tint, it also doubles as a nourishing, conditioning lip balm to hydrate your lips.

If you are looking for more of a shine, you can also add gloss on top.

I grow pansy flowers in my garden and I really love how this is a key ingredient in this lipbar alongside jojoba oil, and shea butter, both of which I have been using on my body for years.

Wild pansy flower is also known as ‘heartsease’ for it’s benefits to heart health. Wild pansy has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, emollient, and healing properties. Which all work to sooth and protect your skin & lips.

Herbal Face Tonic

This Herbal Face Tonic is a delightful hydrating mist and toner. I am now onto my second bottle of this as I love it so much! It contains herbal superfoods of green tea leaf extract - full of antioxidants, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties, mandarin cold pressed oil - rich in vitamins C, B and E, considered to soothe and brighten skin, witch hazel - known to reduce acne and tighten skin, geranium for its skin tightening and circulation boosting effects, aloe vera - a natural oxygenator that aids cell renewal, in addition to rosemary and grapeseed oil. The herbal face tonic also features hyaluronic acid for lasting moisture, and collagen promotion.

I especially love to use it around this time of year in the summer before I’m heading out for a day outdoors and after a long day at the beach on my sunkissed skin to refresh and hydrate my face. I find that this tonic is balancing, tonifying, and reviving. It’s something I wear under and over my makeup as well, and to spritz on my face for a no-makeup day or night.

For a fresh-faced summer makeup look, I love to spray this on my face with the Quandong Green Booster Serum, and then go in with applying the Oat Milk Foundation. I believe these 3 are a power trio to help you achieve a beautiful base & a ‘second skin’.

This is certainly my favourite product so far from Ere Perez out of their skin line and it’s a spray I’ll always want in my kit!

Mango Lip Honey in Crush

This juicy tinted lipgloss is one of my most used products out of the entire Ere Perez makeup line. I have been using the shade ‘Crush’ recently as it’s the best shade in their Mango Lip Honey collection for the holiday season & New Years! It’s a deep boysenberry ‘purply pink’ colour, with an intense syrupy gloss finish — which I just ADORE. I also have this gloss in the shade ‘Chilli’ which is more of a spicy nude that I love to wear often as well.

This gloss has wild mango blended in, which boosts your lips with vitamins & minerals, as well as jojoba seed oil which softens delicate skin. I find that this doesn’t dry out lips, just adds a juicy moisture layer. You can also wear the Mango Lip Honey alone or over a favourite lipstick or stain/tint to add shine to your lips.

It’s just so pretty and I cannot wait to try the other shades of this gloss.

Jojoba Eye Pencil in Earth

The Jojoba Eye Pencil is an eye liner which comes in a large variety of colours and shades. I have the shade ‘Earth’ which is dark brown liner. I love to use this to frame my eyes and to add more definition. I have sensitive eyes and usually steer clear from eye liners because most I’ve tried in the past have made my eyes red and watery, but this does not irritate my eyes at all. It has a creamy and blend-able consistency for creating a smudged, smokey look, but also has a fine tip for precision if you’re sharply lining your eyes. This eye pencil can also be sharpened which is a bonus as well!

There is jojoba, coconut and vitamin E formulated into this eye pencil which are all soothing ingredients that are conditioning for your eyes and lashes.

This shade ‘Earth’ in particular goes with pretty much any makeup look or eye shadow shades! My go-to is a warm bronzed eye with some of the Vanilla Highlighter in ‘Sun Halo’ for shimmer, and it coordinates beautifully with this look :)

The Aloe Lash & Brow Mascara is a clear gel coating mascara that I use to hold my brows in place and to condition my lashes. It also adds an extra layer of shine which I love! I have a scar going diagonally straight through my right eyebrow, and this gel helps me brush up the hair and keep it in place, to cover the scar and to create a nice shape. Which is so super helpful!

This mascara has vitamin-rich aloe vera, which can lengthen lashes and highlight your true lash colour. Its suitable for lash extensions, contact lenses and sensitive eyes, which is perfect for me because my eyes can get easily irritated by non-natural eye makeup. Its also sweat-proof and water-resistant, so I’ve been using it in the morning and its lasted throughout swims & workouts.

I apply this as the last step in my brow & eye makeup routine. I first apply a layer of the Avocado Waterproof Mascara, then I use this Aloe Lash & Brow Mascara and dip the wand into container, wipe excess mascara on the rim and apply in upward strokes to the underside of my lashes. For brows I brush in outward strokes for a sleek and natural brow look :)

I would highly recommend this gel if you’re wanting to condition and grow your lashes or to tame any messy brow flyaways!
